Ama by the Bay

Her breathing continues, somewhat labored, but steady and with assistance from an oxygen machine. Her pain is well managed, and she rides the waves of medicated pain throughout the day. Nacho, her loving husband, is always by her side. They rest under the canopy of a tent in their bed on the deck of Casa de Las Ondas. A view of gray-blue Monterey Bay can be seen from the deck, and surrounding her are bouquets of flowers, cards, and the warm, friendly faces of family and friends, floating, embracing, surrounding her with love throughout the day. Her spirit remains strong. We laugh with her, re-tell old stories. Her brother, Lexie, and roommate/friend Kat, run the ship in the background, ever-vigilant. The sun goes down and Ama retires with it, in restful sleep until sunrise.
